St. Louis,
Missouri, February 19, 2007 — Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company
showed a successful Valentine’s Holiday despite the snow storm that
fell on February 13th.
Chocolate
Chocolate Chocolate Company showed a strong increase in sales this
Valentine’s holiday season. Despite the snow storm that called for
a snow day across all schools and some businesses in the St. Louis
area on Tuesday, February 13th, people continued to come
in for their chocolate covered strawberries and Valentine’s seasonal
chocolates. Some stores even opened as early as 7:30 a.m. on the 13th
to let those early-bird shoppers come in before the ice and snow
materialized.
Chocolate
Chocolate Chocolate Company also was excited to see wholesale sales
increase substantially for the first part of February. Dierbergs
Markets, an upscale grocery store chain with 23 locations also
showed strong sales with the nearly 50 Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate
Company products that are sold in their bakeries.
This was also
the first Valentine’s Day for the Wentzville, Missouri and
Edwardsville, Illinois locations that opened in the fall of 2006.
Both locations performed very successfully for their first year.
Founder Dan Abel stated that “chocolate covered strawberries have
become a tradition in St. Louis for Valentines Day. We have been
bringing in our strawberries fresh from California and making them
fresh every morning for 26 years now; people just know us for our
chocolate covered strawberries.”
With Easter
coming late this year, Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company has a
little bit of time before it makes those chocolate Easter bunnies
and Easter eggs.
ABOUT
CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE COMPANY:
Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company began manufacturing premium
hand made chocolates in 1981. Prior to the company's opening,
founder Dan Abel spent over a decade training with the finest candy
makers in the world. His apprenticeship taught him everything there
is to know about making premium chocolates in small batches. Some
of the recipes used today come from old time candy makers dating
back to 1904.
The original candy kitchen is still in operation today at the
headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. Although the company has grown
from one location to over a dozen retail stores, the same time
honored methods of old fashioned candy making are still in place.
Copper kettles mix the creamy centers that are then cut by hand
after sitting on a chilling table. The centers are then enrobed by
our meticulous candy makers, who inspect each piece before it leaves
the candy kitchen. Most importantly, the chocolates consumed by
customers are usually made the day they were purchased. There is
nothing like a piece of chocolate the day it was made.
